Robert F. Fritch

Robert F. “Bob” Fritch, 88, of Mackinaw, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home. 

He was born September 22, 1933 in Mackinaw to C.N. and Flora Childress Fritch.  He married Marian Schmidgall on April 17, 1955 in Eureka, and she survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Valerie (Jim) Stiers of Mackinaw, Kevin (Diane) Fritch of Piedmont, MO, and Kim (Lori) Fritch of Deer Creek; 10 grandchildren, Ben (Brianna) Stiers, Joey Stiers, Brandon Stiers, Derrick (Crystal) Fritch, Nicole (Jordan) Ottwell, Richard Larue, Justin (Rebekah) Fritch, Melissa Bell, Kristin (Nick) Rochelle, and Jennifer Bell; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Fritch of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Bob served in the United States Army, where he served on the Honor Guard and was stationed in Hawaii. 

Bob was a barber in Mackinaw for 46 years and also worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years retiring in 1999.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mackinaw, Mackinaw Masonic Lodge, Mackinaw Lion’s Club, and served on the Mackinaw Fire Department. 

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Mackinaw.  Pastor Shelly Forrest will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday, also at the church.  Private burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.  Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements. 

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Mackinaw or Mackinaw Fire Department.
