Mackinaw residents, Erik Malmgren and Tara Sepich, were united in marriage on Friday November 5th. He is the son of Karen Malmgren and (late) James Malmgren, both of Canton. She is the daughter of Jennifer Sepich and (late) David Sepich, also of Canton.

The happy couple originally met in high school German class, many years ago. However, both were far too shy to approach the other, so, the mutual attraction remained a simple crush. The two crossed paths again, later in life, and started dating immediately. Rumor has it that she denied his first attempt at a kiss (and he is totally over it).  

In August of 2019, the couple moved from Canton to Mackinaw. He works at Case New Holland and The Mackinaw Mail. She works at Haynes on Main and the Illinois Department of Human Resources. The couple plan on having a reception/party sometime in the spring of 2022. Plans are also being made for a honeymoon to Costa Rica next summer.
